Organized by Gabbianella Club Srls with the contribution of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual).

Al di là della visione is a film festival that looks at the relationship between architecture, design and audiovisual works. Often, in fact, it is precisely this relationship that defines the style of a work. The encounter between cinema and architecture has always been rich in exchanges and intertwining, material and intangible. Architecture that is not, however, an aseptic container, but a space dedicated to the filmic story, a means of real narrative evolution, set, active actor of the story. Physical space can tell human psychology directly or indirectly, through the combination of these two arts that enhance everyday or exceptional experiences.

L’Afragola Film Festival (A.F.F.) aims to evaluate those stories that have a particular focus on urban, suburban or peripheral architecture that shape, form, collect, reject or enhance the stories they contain.

Place and period of performance

A.F.F. “Al di là della visione” will take place in the city of Afragola (NA) in the second half of November 2022.

Contests

A.F.F. provides for a competition for audiovisual works divided into the following five categories:

Fiction Feature Films: fictional works with a minimum duration of 50 '

Fiction Short Films: fictional works with a maximum duration of 20 '

Feature Film Documentaries: documentary works with a minimum duration of 50 minutes

Short film documentaries: documentary works with a maximum duration of 20 '

Animation Films: animated feature films and short films of any length

The films entered in the competitions must be dedicated to the theme: "Real, imagined or mental architectures".

The Selection Committee will choose, at its sole discretion, the works sent on the basis of the overall technical quality and the narrative quality.
Tutte le opere non inerenti al tema indicato non verranno prese in considerazione.

Categories and Awards

Each section provides for the award of a prize to the Best Film.

The jury reserves the right to assign any special mentions for artistic and / or technical merits to the works in competition.

Award ceremony

The prizes will be awarded during the final evening of the A.F.F. which will take place live at the Teatro Cinema Gelsomino in Afragola (NA), or will be sent if various and eventual circumstances make it strictly necessary.

Sending and Format of materials

L’invio dei film ai concorsi è gratuito.

Only works completed from 1 January 2019 can participate in the competitions.

The works sent for the 2021 edition will not be accepted.

Films will be accepted only if regularly uploaded to the Film Freeway platform (https://filmfreeway.com/Afragolafilmfestival).

The format is accepted for a first evaluation

High Definition (HD 1080 x 720) and / or Full HD (1920 x 1080)

Upload H.264/MPEG-4/Mov.

If the work is selected, the participant will have to provide his / her work in DCP format for screening in the hall. If this does not happen, the film would be automatically deleted.

Language

All films in a language other than Italian must be sent in the original language with subtitles in Italian or English.

All works without subtitles will not be taken into consideration.

Shipping of projection copies

The screening copy of the film in DCP must arrive at the festival site no later than the day 30 ottobre 2022, secondo le istruzioni fornite dal Festival. 

By e-mail to the address: info@afragolafilmfestival.it writing as the subject 'DCP and title of the film'.

Or by putting the words "Without commercial value, for cultural purposes only" on the envelope.

Any shipment from outside the European Union must be accompanied by a pro-forma invoice, list of packages, travel documents (title and quantity of video media for each film; in the case of celluloid films, there must be an indication of the number of reels and length of the film in metres). At the same time the sender must ensure that the Festival office receives the shipping notice by email, indicating: the film title, the date and shipping coordinates (AWB number)

Shipping and customs clearance costs for the screening copy of the selected films are the responsibility of the sender. For the return, the Afragola Film Festival will bear the costs of transport and customs clearance from Afragola to the place of destination.

Release information

Authors and / or Producers are responsible for the content of their works and declare, by registering with the A.F.F. to have fulfilled all obligations towards third parties deriving from copyright.

The rights holders of the selected films authorize the L’Afragola Film Festival as follows:

- granting of the right of communication to the public and exploitation of the Work for the purposes of

screening of it during the days of the event;

- use of clips and photos taken from the films in question for promotional purposes of the Film Festival on all media: press, poster design, television, web with the use of the Festival logo without any right to receive any compensation for such exploitation, allowance, reimbursement.

- waiver of any consideration, prize or recognition for the communication to the public and screening of the Work and / or use of the Work.

Sanitary emergency

The A.F.F. reserves the right to vary, based on the needs related to the health emergency, the methods of conducting the event.

Information on the processing of personal data

We need to process the personal data provided when registering the film for the purpose of managing the event. The provision of your data is optional. However, failure to send such data makes it impossible to proceed with the selection of the candidate work for the purposes of organizing the event.

Pursuant to Art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/03, we hereby inform you that the data received will be treated in accordance with the principles of fairness, transparency and solely for the purposes of Festival management.

The aforementioned data may be disclosed to our service providers and other third parties, where necessary for event management purposes or where there is a legal obligation to do so. A complete list of such parties will be made available by written request to the registered offices of:
